The new series will follow a bounty hunter in the days following the fall of the Empire in “Jedi Return”. Disney has ordered a second season for the series before one episode of the series airs
When the Star Wars meets the Wild West
The new series will follow a nameless bounty hunter known only as of the “Mandalorian.” So what is Mandalorian anyway? This is a man originally from a planet called Mandalore, the star that brought us another well-known head hunter – Boba Fett who is fondly remembered from “Empire Strikes Back” and “The Jedi Return” and his father Jango Pat – who was the genetic basis for Clone Troopers The Clones) The infamous Chapter 2.

The star had a rich history, largely erased by Disney and becoming a “legend” – meaning not part of the current Star Wars canon. The Mandalorians are known for being resourceful fighters, even in their dilapidated history, and most of them have a similar armor that undergoes various upgrades according to the warrior’s wishes.
The series will follow that bounty hunter in the days after five years after the fall of the Galactic Empire in “Jedi’s Return” and the death of Emperor Palpatine (did he really die? We will wait for Chapter 9 to know) and before the rise of the First Order.

The Mandalorian, played by Pedro Pascal (O’Brien Martel of the Game of Thrones), will be subject to the Guild of Guards where he is, led by actor Carl Weathers (Apollo Creed of Rocky Films), and it appears that during the series he will also connect with new characters such as the Druid IG 11 (Don’t be confused with IG-88 from “The Empire Strikes Back”), Kara Don – a former rebel fighter starring Gina Crowo (Angel Dust Meddapole) and German director Werner Herzog – who will likely portray a former senior figure in the empire.
Another player to take part in the series and likely to be the main antagonist in it will be Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring breaking lines and relying on Sol) to play a former star-empire governor in the outer regions – which is considered the Wild West of Star Wars.
Behind the series are two: actor and director John Favreau, who directed Iron from the first and second (and the new Lion King), and Dave Philoni – who worked for years alongside spiritual father George Lucas and who is behind two very successful cartoon series – Star Wars: Clone and Star Wars: The Rebels.
The series will be directed by Philoni along with some very tantalizing directors like Taika Waititi (who directed Thor Ragnarok) and Deborah Chow (who will direct the series on Obi Wan Kenobi at Disney+). The first season of the series has 8 episodes, with Disney already ordering a second season – before one episode has been aired or watched by critics.
