From an early age we are taught that we have to be non-selfish. To consider the feelings of the people around us and put them in front of us. Such people are very fond of the environment, it is always fun to be around them and they make our lives easier.
But are they happy?
Some of them are sure yes. I’m not saying there’s no joy in helping others. Especially since others are people close to our hearts and deserve to be treated in the best way possible. But there is a limit to the amount of consideration we can deal with.
If you can not say no and always think what others have to say, you just will not succeed. Worse, you will not be happy. If you have a dream that you want to become a reality, you have to put yourself above all else.
So what can be done to get the negativity out of life and concentrate only on ourselves?
There are three aspects in life that deserve to be at the top of the list. If you are more selfish in these aspects, the way you behave in your daily life will change.
Be selfish with your body
Your body deserves attention before everything. It is your temple. You will live with him until you die. Your body state determines how active you are and how much energy you have to achieve your goals and in general how you feel every day.
So how do you do that?
Be aware of what you put into your body. Do not finish the plate if you feel already exhausted. Do not eat too many fatty things and are full of sugar. Buy fresh ingredients, learn to cook, and pay attention to the ingredients of what you put into your body.
Keep yourself as fit as you can. Find some training you like, have a million types, and make it part of your daily life. Try to move as much as possible on foot rather than in the car. You do not have to be extremely shapely or aspire to a particular body structure. Just make sure your body gets enough exercise that makes you feel good in your skin.
Treat yourself. Mental health and relaxation are just as important as proper nutrition and exercise. Do not listen to anyone who tells you that being treated at a spa is a luxury. Do what is good for you. Our bodies and minds go through a lot and relaxation is exactly what they need.
Be selfish with the people around you
The people surrounding you are a reflection of yourself. So why spend time on people who take you down?
I’m sure you’ve heard this before but already say it again, it’s important to be in a positive environment if you want to be happy. What does not help is to be around people who constantly complain, do not strive to improve themselves or are not interested in you and things that bother you.
Get them out of your life.
And if you can not do it then try to get them out of your head simply. Do not listen to their negative comments and concentrate on the good people in your life. Those who are really there for you, who love their environment and always push you to be a better version of yourself.
Be selfish with the things you buy
The objects surrounding you are like the people surrounding you. You meet with them on a daily basis and have an impact on how you feel and how you behave.
This is why you should also be aware of the material things that you own. Look around your room. Is it full of things that give you a smile on your face and inspire you? Is the room neat and clean? Your objects are your reflection?
If not, it’s time to change it. Throw things you really do not like. Buy clothes that you feel comfortable in. And decorate your personal space in such a way as to make you feel safe and happy every time you come home. Buy things that make you happy and stay long.
Following these rules will help you fulfill your dreams. More importantly, they will bring you closer to yourself. It is very easy to lose direction in life and not to know who I am and what I want to do in my life. So you have to spend some time figuring out what you want to accomplish and make it happen.
I am not saying that you will be completely selfish and completely ignore anyone around you and raise some negative emotions. It is important to be as generous and courteous as possible. I’m talking about situations that really bring you down and make you stuck in place. It’s okay to say no to people from time to time. It’s okay to want the best for yourself. No one will love you less if you put yourself first.
Be proud of yourself. Be fearless. And do not compromise on less than you deserve.
