Do you feel your Android device is slow? Here are tips that will make it faster

One of the major problems with many Android devices is that over time the device tends to be slower and slower. This is usually expressed in older devices that do not get update but like the computer – the more use the device becomes slower. Although iPhone devices are not free from such speed problems, this Android is more prominent. If you also understand that their device is getting a bit slower, use the tips below to help you improve your device’s performance and responsiveness.

Make sure your device is up to date

Every few months Google releases release updates to various manufacturers to match them to their devices. In addition to other visual changes and minor fixes that bring the version update, updating the device to the latest version greatly improves the speed of the device. Most devices have the option to update the version via the OTA (Air Updates) feature, but this can also be done with the dedicated software. In general, the same applies to other applications and services.

Uninstall android app Remove apps that are no longer needed

There is a direct connection between the available storage space on the device and the number of unnecessary applications installed in it. Most users using devices with 32 gigabytes or more are installing an unusually large number of applications, most of which are not used at all. Applications that are not being used or used are minimal and not permanent, causing a certain amount of weight to the device as they take up unnecessary storage space. Therefore, it is recommended that you periodically set up a list of installed apps on your device and delete those that are no longer needed. How apps are deleted varies between device and device, but you can also remove the app directly from the Google Play page from which it was installed.

Clean the app cache

Almost all applications create a cache independent of the cache. The purpose of these files is to store information in the application’s internal memory so that it can function more correctly, as well as to remember the activity of the user in the application until any given point in time. Over time, these cache files overload the application, and as a result they begin to react slowly, eventually slowing down the entire device. Therefore, it is recommended that you periodically clean the cache files of all applications by entering the system settings menu and from there to the list of applications. You can perform a general cleanup that will apply to all applications with an app such as the App Cache Cleaner, or perform a cleanup for each app separately.

Turn off automatic sync

Synchronization works in Android ‘behind the scenes’ regularly and continuously. With this feature, your contacts are automatically backed up and updated to your Google Account. The photos are automatically backed up to the Google Plus account (Gggogle +) and / or the Dropbox account. There are also a number of specific applications running on a regular basis and several more to collect data and keep information up to date. Although this feature is extremely important, it also causes the Android device to suffer a certain slowness in light of the fact that synchronization runs in the background on a regular basis. Of course, auto-sync (which is not recommended) can be completely turned off, but you can also disable multiple sync accounts that do not work at all. You may also want to change the sync frequency so that it is only performed on specific days of the week. The sync settings are located under Device Settings> Accounts.

Clean your home screen

Some say that one of the factors contributing to the sense of heavyness in Android devices is the fact that you can add widgets to your home screens without limitation, and use the live background to the device. Although this feature improves the experience of using the device, but at the same time causes a certain sense of slowness, due to the heavy load generated on the home screen. In general, it is recommended to use a static background to the device, as well as to use only necessary widgets to avoid unnecessary overload.

Quickly reduce animations

The Android system is full of animations. Although this feature contributes to the experience of using the device, these animations also cause a slight delay in the response of the device, because naturally they have to wait until they finish before the device performs the next operation. You can change the animation speed for almost all of their occurrences. Please note that you may need to enable developer settings on your device. When this setting is enabled, the animation duration can be set using a simple selection slider or even completely undone.

Perform a general reset to the machine

It should be noted that resetting the device back to the default is the most extreme step, but also the most effective in extreme cases of slowness. The reset operation actually returns the default device to the default state of the box, so that users will gain a new device (approximately). It is important to note that the reset operation deletes all device data and applications including contacts, apps, music, and other data. Therefore, it is very important to perform a general backup to the device before resetting.

Clean up temporary files / cache files

The Android system is known to consist of three main partitions that differ in function and function. One of these partitions is called Cache Partition, or in Hebrew: Cache Files. The function of this partition is the same as the cache files stored in the various applications. However, applications that have been authorized to “read” a memory partition are approached in order to improve their performance, as well as to collect information that will assist in its continued functioning. Over time, pressure is created on the partition, which causes, of course, the slowness and heavyness on the device. It is recommended and even advisable to periodically clean cache files that helps to quickly respond to the device better. This can be done with a variety of downloadable applications.
